Cinemap is a filming location discovery app. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data.

Information We Collect

Account information

When you sign in with Apple, we receive a user identifier issued by Apple. If you choose to share your name, we store it locally on your device. We do not receive or store your Apple ID email address unless you explicitly share it.

Location

We request access to your device's location while the app is in use. Your location is used only to show filming locations near you and to pre-fill coordinates when you submit a new filming location. We do not store your device's location on our servers.

Coordinates you submit as part of a filming location are stored in iCloud and are publicly visible to all users of the app.

User-generated content

When you submit a filming location or upload match cut images, that content - including photos, descriptions, and coordinates - is stored in Apple's CloudKit public database and may be visible to all users of the app.

Notification preferences

Your preferences for receiving in-app notifications (e.g. "Notify me when a new location is added for this title") are stored in Apple's CloudKit database linked to your Apple user identifier.

Local storage

We store app preferences (such as your favourites and tour history) in your device's local storage (UserDefaults). This data does not leave your device except as part of iCloud sync managed by Apple.

How We Use Your Information

- To display filming locations relevant to you

- To attribute content you submit to your account

- To send you in-app notifications about content you have opted into

- To manage moderation of submitted content

Third-Party Services

Apple CloudKit - all user content and preferences are stored in Apple's

iCloud infrastructure. Apple's privacy policy applies:

The Movie Database (TMDB) - we query TMDB's API for film and TV show metadata (titles, posters, descriptions). No personal data is sent to TMDB.

We do not use any advertising networks, analytics SDKs, or tracking tools.

Data Retention

Content you submit (filming locations, match cuts) remains in the public database until removed by a moderator or at your request. Notification preferences are

retained until you delete your account or request removal.

Your Rights

You may request deletion of your account and any content you have submitted by contacting us at the address below. Because content is stored in Apple's CloudKit

infrastructure, some data deletion is subject to Apple's data practices.

Children's Privacy

Cinemap is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the app after

changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
